Vice President, Therapy Services
Steve Baur, DPT, vice president of Therapy Services, oversees clinical and business operations for MedStar Visiting Nurse Association’s Suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia agencies. He also leads homecare rehabilitative services – physical, occupational and speech therapies – across all four MedStar VNA agencies. Baur’s keen focus on expanding and enhancing therapy practices sets the organization apart from its competitors. While overseeing daily homecare operations, Baur maximizes technology and communication mediums to ensure the remote clinical workforce stays connected to patient needs, improving outcomes and ensuring the highest level of quality care possible.
Since joining MedStar VNA in 2011, Baur quickly rose into leadership roles including care manager, assistant regional operations director, and interim regional operations director. Baur’s years of experience as a homecare physical therapist allow him to quickly identify opportunities to improve processes, manage performance, maximize technology resources, and leverage associates’ strengths.
In 2015, Governor Larry Hogan appointed Baur to the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for a four-year term. He is also a 12-year member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Baur earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Maryland at College Park and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine.
